2025 GHS Baseball Coaching Staff

ADRIAN ARANGO - VARSITY HEAD COACH

Adrian has been the Head Varsity Coach at GHS since he was hired in November 2019.  (GHS hires Adrian Arango-Greenwich Time article). Previously he was an Assistant Varsity Coach at both Stamford High School and New Canaan High School. He was also a Pitching Coach for the Stamford American Legion 17U team. He earned a Masters in Elementary Education from the University Bridgeport and a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from UConn-Storrs. He is a 2000 graduate of Stamford High School where he was Captain of the baseball team and earned All FCIAC -West honors and was a Connecticut Post Honorable Mention All-State pitcher. ​Adrian is a 6th grade math teacher at Scofield Magnet Middle School in Stamford. He lives in Stamford with his wife Jennifer Arango, who is a math teacher at Greenwich High School.

AIDAN GAFFNEY - VARSITY ASSISTANT COACH

Aidan has been on the GHS Baseball coaching staff since January 2016 were he coached the Freshman team until 2018 and took over the JV squad in 2019.​He earned a B.S. in Exercise Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst where he lettered in football. Aidan is a graduate of Middleboro High School in Massachusetts where he was a three sport athlete and three time captain. In 2018, he was inducted into Middleboro High School's Hall of Fame. Aidan is the owner of Vibe Fitness and Performance in Darien.  He lives with his wife, Erin and their son, Augustus in Rowayton.

KEN LEWIS - VARSITY ASSISTANT COACH 

Ken has coached baseball for 25 years, and this coaching role represents an enjoyable return to Greenwich High School, where he graduated in 1976. Ken was the Head Varsity Baseball Coach at the King School in Stamford for 14 years, where his teams won three Fairchester Athletic Association championships, and were twice runners-up and three-time semi-finalists in the NEPSAC Baseball Tournament. Ken was also the Chairman of the FAA for eight years and ran the King Vikings Summer Baseball Camp. During the summer, Ken is the Head Coach of the Stamford 17U American Legion program. He has coached American Legion baseball for over 20 years and is a four-time Connecticut American Legion Coach of the Year. His Legion coaching started first with the Greenwich Cannons, where he teamed with Coach Mike Abate to win the Junior American Legion Connecticut State and New England Regional Championships; and then in Stamford for the past 11 years, during which he won four Connecticut State titles as the head coach of their Legion Prep program. Ken’s fondest baseball memories involve his 2015 and 2016 Legion Prep teams, which went 58-3 and won consecutive Connecticut State championships. Two of the players on that team were later drafted by MLB teams. Ken currently teaches 8th-grade history at the King School and resides in Stamford with his wife Catherine and son Joshua. He received his BA from Fordham University, a Juris Doctorate from the University of Bridgeport School of Law, and a Masters's Degree in Secondary Education from Fairfield University.

JOSEPH URBANO - PROGRAM EQUIPMENT MANAGER

Joe has been on the GHS Baseball coaching staff since 2013 and also serves as an Assistant Coach for the Greenwich Cannons U17 American Legion team. Before that he was an Assistant Coach for the Stamford U13 American Legion team. ​He is also the Equipment Coordinator for GHS' championship football program. Prior to that he was an Assistant Sophomore Football Coach. He also serves as the Winter Season Athletic Site Director for the GHS Athletic Department. Joe graduated from Trumbull High School.

BRUCE CUNNINGHAM - JUNIOR VARSITY HEAD COACH 

The 2025 season will be the third for Bruce.  He is currently the offensive line coach for the Greenwich football team. Bruce has previous coaching experience in baseball, softball, wrestling and hockey over the past forty years.​Bruce earned a B.S. in Physical Education from Eastern Connecticut State University. He attended graduate school at Bowling Green State University and Southern Connecticut State University where he earned a degree in Health Education. Bruce is a 1983 graduate of Greenwich High School. Bruce currently teaches Health and Physical Education at Greenwich High School.

JUSTIN JORDAN - JUNIOR VARSITY ASSISTANT COACH

The upcoming 2025 season will be the second coaching role for Justin. Justin played Division-1 Baseball at Sacred Heart University where he finished second all time in hits. While earning his Masters in Business Administration and Bachelors of Arts in Sports Management, Justin had over 250 combined starts with the SHU Pioneers of the NEC, Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod Baseball League and Danbury Westerners of the New England Collegiate Baseball League - where he was a key part of the 2021 championship team. Justin graduated from Darien High School in 2018 where he was a captain of the baseball team. He was a part of the 2016 & 2018 FCIAC baseball championship title teams. Justin was also a member of the basketball team. He currently resides in Greenwich and works at the Griff golf course and is becoming a substitute teacher.

JOHN SCHLESINGER - FRESHMAN COACH

This is John’s second season as freshman baseball coach. He is in his seventh-year teaching Business Education at Greenwich High School. Currently, he is the boys freshman soccer coach. Previously, he coached various sports for six years at the recreation level. John earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Education from Rutgers University.

JEREMY SIMON - FRESHMAN ASSISTANT COACH

Jeremy is excited to join the Greenwich coaching staff for the 2025 season. This will be his first season coaching with the program. A graduate of Mahwah High School, Jeremy played baseball during his time there. After high school, he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business from SUNY Cobleskill and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in Health and Physical Education at Montclair State University.  In addition to coaching, Jeremy works as a substitute teacher at Western Middle School and is an experienced baseball umpire, officiating games ranging from U10 to varsity-level competition. He is passionate about teaching and is eager to help student-athletes develop their skills both on and off the field.
